Minted Mini Steak Burgers

  • 1 pound Heartland Steak?s Certified Angus Beef ? Steak Burger Meat
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) finely diced yellow onion
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) finely chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Garam Masala
  • 8 mini pita pocket breads
  • 1 recipe Yogurt Sauce (recipe below)

Directions

Combine beef, onion, mint, chilies and Garam Masala; shape into 2-ounce (60 g) patties. Grill or broil to desired doneness. Serve on pita bread with yogurt sauce.

Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup (250 ml) plain yogurt
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) peeled, seeded and chopped cucumber

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel bowl. Refrigerate for service.

Makes 8 mini burgers.
