Italian Certified Angus Beef® Steak Burger

  • 3 pounds Heartland Steak's Certified Angus Beef® Steak Burger Meat
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) chopped fresh basil
  • 3 teaspoons (15 ml) onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon (3 ml) pepper
  • 1 recipe Tomato Basil Sauce (recipe below)
  • 16 ounces (450 g) fresh mozzarella
  • 2 (8-inch or 20 cm) round Focaccia loaves, cut into quarters and sliced in half
  • Melted butter as needed

Directions

  1. Combine beef, fresh herbs, onion powder, salt and pepper. Portion into 8-ounce (225 g) patties and grill to desired doneness. Top each burger with 3 tablespoons (45 ml) Tomato Basil Sauce and 3 slices fresh mozzarella. Close lid on grill to melt cheese slightly.
  2. Brush Focaccia bread with melted butter and toast on grill.
  3. Serve burgers on Focaccia bread.
