Garlic & Red Wine Sauce

This Garlic & Red Wine Recipe is a delicious steak sauce recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz.) filet mignon, about 2-inches thick
  • 1/2 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 3 oz. white mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Slice a small pocket into each filet.
  2. Stuff each filet with the equivalent of 1 clove of garlic.
  3. Lightly season filet with salt.
  4. Mix together vinegar and olive oil and brush generously over each filet.
  5. Brush grill lightly with oil and preheat to medium-high heat.
  6. Sear filet for 3 minutes, basting with Cabernet. Flip filet and repeat.
  7. While searing filets, place mushrooms and one teaspoon olive oil in a heavy duty foil pan over direct heat.
  8. Grill mushrooms for 4-5 minutes or until soft.
  9. Remove filets and mushrooms from grill and serve.
