Deliciously Stuffed Porterhouse Steaks

Ingredients
  • 4 Porterhouse steaks, thickly cut
  • 1, 8oz package of fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 shallots, peeled and sliced
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup good red wine
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 T. unsalted butter
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Directions
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sauté the mushrooms, shallots, and garlic until shallot are tender; about 5 minutes.
  • Add the wine and Worcestershire sauce and cook until all liquid is gone and mushrooms start to brown.
  • Cut a deep slit in the steak and fill with the mushroom mixture.
  • Cook steaks over moderate heat on grill, to desired doneness, flipping once.
  • Serves 6-8
