Cold Sliced Sirloin Steak with Garlic and Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 Certified Angus Beef Top Sirloin Steaks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 T of unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups of olive oil
  • ½ cup of freshly sliced basil
  • 4 roma tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced up
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Take the steaks and season to taste with the salt and pepper.
  2. Melt the butter with ¼ cup of the olive oil in a large skillet.
  3. Add the steaks and cook until medium rare or medium, this will be around 20 minutes.
  4. When cooked, cool for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator.
  5. Add the rest of the oil, tomatoes, garlic, and basil in a bowl. Mix together and let sit for a half hour.
  6. Take steak out of refrigerator and slice it as thin as you can. Serve with the tomato mixture.

This recipe goes great with fresh bread.
