Baked Ham and Fruit

Ingredients

  • 1 smoked ham
  • 5 bosc pears, cored and quartered
  • 5 gala apples, peeled and quartered
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp. diced butter
  • 2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 14 asparagus stems

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. If ham is frozen, defrost for 2 days in original packaging.
  2. Once defrosted, pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
  3. Cover ham with foil and place into roasting pan .
  4. Place apples and pears and cinnamon stick in bottom of roasting pan, spreading the pieces of butter throughout the pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Mix together brown sugar, cider, and honey in small bowl.
  7. After the hour is up, add the cranberries to the top of the apples and pears and open up foil to brush on glaze and leave open. Cook for another 1/2 hour.
  8. Let ham rest ten minutes before slicing.
