Recipe of the Month

Szechwan Beef
"This recipe is outstanding. You'll love it! "

Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin steak, rinsed and patted dry
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 2 scallions, white part, thinly sliced lengthwise (use green part and dice for garnish)
- 1/4 cup stir fry sauce
- 1 T. dry sherry
- 1 T. Vietnamese chili-garlic sauce
Directions
- Trim fat from steak and slice across the grain into 1/4 inch thick slices. Slice one more time across grain for thinner pieces of meat. Set aside.
- Add 2 T. of oil to wok, and heat to a high heat. Add the carrots and stir for 2 minutes; remove carrots.
- Add vegetable oil to coat the bottom of skillet or wok and wait until hot.
- Add beef and stir fry for 8-10 minutes or until beef gets dark and crispy.
- Remove beef from pan and drain most of the oil out. Add scallions and carrots and stir fry for another couple minutes. Then add beef and sauces.
- Stir fry mixture together for another minute. Remove and garnish with the green part of scallions.
Serves 4 |
