"This recipe blew me away!
You've gotta try it! "
~Tim Ralls, Chicago, IL
Ingredients
- 2 pounds Heartland Steaks steakburgers
- Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup good quality mayonnaise
- 3 cloves pureed roasted garlic
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 4 classic hamburger buns
- Thinly sliced Swiss cheese
- Smoked ham, thinly sliced
- 2 dill pickles, sliced 1/4 inch thick
Directions
- Preheat grill to high and season steakburgers with salt and pepper on each side.
- Grill for a few minutes on each side for medium and remove burgers from heat when done. Set grill to medium-low.
- Combine mayo and garlic in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Spread each bun with mayo and mustard.
- Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun, put the burger on top of the cheese, and then place sliced ham, cheese, and pickle slices.
- The bun tops should go over the pickles. Wrap burgers in foil and place on grill.
- Using a heavy pan or brick wrapped in foil, press down on burgers for up to one minute.
- Lower grill lid and grill for another couple minutes or until the cheese melts and the bun is pressed and firm.
